Crafted in silver with a hammered finish, the pendant features fine stud detailing and a swirling abstract design mirrored on each side.
At its centre sits a greenish-blue turquoise matrix cabochon, set in a gold mount in classic Murrle Bennett style.
This motif continues in the lower drop, where a second turquoise stone of a clearer blue tone is also framed in gold.
The main pendant is suspended from four short chain links joined to decorative side fittings, which connect gracefully to the rest of the necklace chain.
Chain length: 50cm (19.7inch) Total weight (pendant & chain) 8.5 gram.
Murrle Bennett & Co. was a wholesale jewellery company based in London, originally established in 1884 under the name Siegele & Bennett by Ernst Mürrle and J.B. Bennett. In 1891, the firm was renamed Murrle Bennett & Co. and promoted itself as “manufacturers and importers of British and Foreign jewellery,” with an additional location at 39 Bleich-Strasse in Pforzheim, Germany.
In 1916, the business was acquired and continued operating from the same address under the new name White, Redgrove & Whyte.
The company is especially noted for its Art Nouveau and Arts and Crafts style jewellery and collaborated with prominent designers such as Archibald Knox and Theodor Fahrner.

As with all our vintage and antique jeweller, we give our items a clean over but not a “back to new” clean. Many of our buyers prefer it this way which is why we do it.
The reason being that it takes just minutes to clean 100 years or more of patina off when you receive the item should you wish but another 100 years or more to put it back on again if you prefer it that way. A long wait.
We have to take photographs very close up so we can show detail which can make items look much larger than they are so please do view the photo with the UK £1 and US Quarter to get an idea of size.
