OUR STORY
Our story began in Wells in 1959, and the city has been part of our lives ever since. The way we trade has changed over the years, but our connection with Wells remains at the heart of Amiska.
We began as Marshalls in Wells in 1959. For many years, our substantial city-centre premises brought together retail, wholesale and repairs — a varied working life in the heart of Wells.
In 2008, we sold our almost third acre city centre site for housing redevelopment, and the business subsequently moved online. How we trade has changed, but our connection with Wells continues, with the city still very much part of Amiska.
Victorian and Edwardian jewellery is central to Amiska’s collection. We enjoy its craftsmanship, from the detail of a Victorian locket to the fine setting of an Edwardian ring, alongside other carefully selected antique and vintage pieces.
We look for character in jewellery that can still be worn and enjoyed, and gladly share that interest with those discovering period pieces for the first time or returning to a longstanding love.

The Bishop’s Palace, Wells
Wells has been part of our story since 1959. The Cathedral, the Bishop’s Palace and the old city streets are familiar surroundings, and their age and character are part of what we appreciate about our home.
That appreciation carries through to our interest in antique jewellery. We enjoy the evidence of careful workmanship and the details that connect a piece to its period, as well as the pleasure it can bring today.
