The centre is set with a lovely round faceted peridot, its soft apple-green colour catching the light beautifully. A second peridot hangs freely below from a small articulated fitting, giving the jewel a little movement when worn.
The combination of peridot and seed pearls was particularly attractive in jewellery of this period. Against the fine gold framework, the gentle green of the stones and lustre of the pearls give the whole piece a wonderfully feminine appearance without making it overly ornate.
It was also designed with versatility in mind. A traditional brooch pin is fitted to the reverse, together with a fitting that allows the jewel to be worn as a pendant on a suitable chain. Convertible jewellery of this type is always especially appealing, allowing the piece to be worn in quite different ways.
The reverse is clearly stamped 9CT for 9 carat gold.
More than a century after it was made, this lovely Edwardian jewel remains remarkably wearable and would sit beautifully alongside both antique and contemporary jewellery.
A beautiful original Edwardian jewel, ready to wear and be admired.
It will arrive carefully presented in a new gift box. Any antique box appearing in our photographs is for display purposes only and is not included.

We have to take photographs close up so we can show detail, which can make items look much larger than they are so please do view the image with the lady and the one with the US Quarter and UK £1 to get an idea of size. This is quite a dainty (and very elegant) little item.

We very much hope you will be thrilled with your purchase from us but if you are in way unhappy please do let us know and we will sort the problem in a minute!

We give our items a sanitise and a polish but not a “back to new” clean. Most of our clients prefer it this way which is why we do it this way. It takes minutes to clean 100 years of patina off when you receive the item but another 100 years to put it back on again.

Please note: If delivery is to be outside of the UK you are responsible for any tax or duty payable to your country’s government except the USA where this item will be sent with all taxes and tariffs already paid.
