Here we have a beautiful Victorian MIZPAH locket, full of wonderful sentimental meaning and classic antique charm.
As is quite usual with jewellery of this age, the locket is not hallmarked but it has been fully tested and confirmed as 9ct gold to both the front and back. The interior and hinge are made from base metal, a traditional construction method commonly used during the Victorian period to provide additional strength and durability.
The front is beautifully hand engraved with an elegant scrolling design and the word “MIZPAH.” Meaning “watchtower” in Hebrew, MIZPAH became a much-loved sentiment in Victorian jewellery and symbolised affection, remembrance and protection between loved ones separated by distance or loss.

The reverse features a blank cartouche, perfect for adding an initial or monogram if desired. Delicate diamond-cut detailing around the edges and bale catches the light beautifully and gives the locket a lovely subtle sparkle.
Inside there is space for two treasured photographs, making this a wonderfully personal piece of antique jewellery that can still be enjoyed and cherished today.
