Edwardian 9ct Gold & Amethyst Geometric Drop Pendant, Circa 1910

£325.00

*Chain: Not included. The chain shown in photographs is for display purposes only.*

An elegant and unusually designed Edwardian 9ct gold pendant, dating to approximately 1905–1915, featuring two beautifully coloured purple stones, believed to be paste/glass.

The upper section is formed from two concentric gold circles surrounding a centrally mounted, faceted purple stone. Beneath this is a long, slender openwork gold drop with attractive geometric detailing, terminating in a second round purple stone in a gold setting.

The design is particularly appealing, combining the graceful proportions associated with Edwardian jewellery with the emerging geometric influences that would become so fashionable during the Art Deco period.

The pendant is stamped 9CT on the reverse and weighs approximately 3.2 grams.

A beautifully proportioned and distinctive antique gold pendant, full of character and wonderfully wearable today.
