A graceful 9ct gold gem set lavalier pendant necklace from the Edwardian era. Circa 1905.
The delicate openwork pendant is set with circular cut green tourmaline stones and accented with softly lustrous cultured split pearls, creating a refined and elegant look typical of the period.
The pendant is stamped 9ct (it has also been tested as 9ct) fitted with an oval bale, and measures approximately 2.16inch (5.5cm) including the bail.
It hangs from a fine cable chain with a push-piece barrel clasp, complete with an attached 9ct gold tag.
The chain measures approximately 17.3inch (44cm) in length.
Approximate gross weight 8.0 grams.
The clasp is in good working order.
The drop has a slight bend where it attaches to the main pendant (as seen in photos) but if you wish it to be straightened it will be an easy job for any jeweller. Many people do prefer to keep this type of “eccentricity” though on pieces of this age as it is all part of it’s story.
