Here we have a beautiful antique Victorian 15ct gold ring, set with rubies, pearls and a central diamond in a wonderfully decorative cluster design.
The ring is hallmarked for 15ct gold (15 / .625) and carries the Birmingham assay mark. There is no clearly legible date letter, but extensive research into both the hallmarking and the style of the ring suggests a mid-to-late Victorian date, most likely circa 1870–1885. There also appears to be the remains of a maker’s mark, although more than a century of wear has left this too indistinct to identify with certainty.

The beautifully detailed setting features a central diamond held within a star-shaped mount, surrounded by lustrous pearls and vivid ruby accents. The ornate scalloped gallery and elegant tapering shoulders are particularly attractive and give the ring that unmistakable Victorian character.

If you have purchased a ring that does not fit you we would recommend taking it to a reputable jeweller who will advise you. Resizing is always best done when an experienced jeweller and the customer can have a face to face meeting, so that the jeweller may complete a professional ring fitting.
Sadly, we are unable to take take return of a ring that you have had resized.
We give our items a sanitise and a polish but not a “back to new” clean. Many of our clients prefer it this way which is why we do it this way.
It takes minutes to clean 100 years of patina off when you receive the item but another 100 years to put it back on again.
