This is a wonderful Carl Schon Inc. silver seahorse brooch, made in the USA in the early 20th century. It features a tiny garnet for the eye, adding a charming touch of colour.
The pin and pin lock appear to function as they should.
Carl Schon was a noted jeweller who worked from 109 W. Saratoga Street between 1915 and 1923, having previously produced metallurgic novelties in Catonsville under the Metallurgic Art Company.
The brooch is in excellent condition. It could do with a clean and polish if you prefer a brighter finish, but as everyone has their own taste, we’ll send it exactly as it is so that you can decide the extent of cleaning or to wear as it is.
Length: 3 inches (7.9cm) | Width: 1.77 inches (4.5cm) | Weight: 29.2 grams.
This is a large, weighty brooch and a real statement piece. Please refer to all photos, video, and measurements for scale.
