A wonderful Charles Horner of Halifax sterling silver and enamel necklace, exquisitely pierced and cast with an elegant foliate design enamelled in rich shades of green and blue, framing a lustrous mother-of-pearl centre that catches the light beautifully.
The reverse is fully hallmarked with **CH** for Charles Horner together with **Chester assay marks for 1909**, dating this lovely piece to the Edwardian period.
Originally, the necklace would have featured a small articulated drop suspended from the bottom. As is often the case with jewellery that has been treasured and worn for well over a century, this has been lost during its 117-year history. It is a minor omission that does little to detract from the necklace’s overall beauty or wearability.
