A Beautiful Victorian 9 Carat Gold Openwork Pendant Set With Peridot And Seed Pearls.

The central gemstone, peridot, stands out with its bright green and golden tones. Historically, it has been linked to good fortune, with a tradition suggesting it can fend off evil spirits, particularly when set in gold.
A Peridot is the birthstone for August and is also traditionally associated with a 16th anniversary or birthday.
Seed pearls, the tiny natural pearls, add delicate detail to the brooch. These pearls were popular in high-end jewellery from the late 19th to early 20th centuries. In general, pearls are symbols of purity, chastity, and delicacy. They represent the birthstone for June and are commonly associated with 30th anniversaries.

The lovely pendant is 4.7cm (1.85 inch) total length approx and 2.3 cm (.9 inch) width approx and is marked 9 CT. The mark is not easy to read as is the way with some very old ones but the 9 is clearly visible and the “CT” in part. It acid tests as 9 carat.
Pendant weight: approx 2.6 grams
