A charming antique jewellery box dating from approximately 1880–1910, with a dark leather-covered exterior and a beautifully contrasting velvet-lined interior.
The box has a pleasingly simple period shape and would originally have been used to hold a small item of jewellery or another treasured possession. Today, it would make an attractive home for a ring, pendant, brooch or other small keepsake.
The interior remains particularly appealing, with deep velvet to the base and a lighter fabric lining to the lid, giving the box a lovely sense of age and character.
